Collette L. Ledlow, 78, died peacefully on April 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and unwavering love. Born on November 10, 1946, in Lewiston, Maine, she was the beloved daughter of Antonio and Georgette (Lachance) McCarthy.
Collette graduated from Lisbon High School, class of 1964, in Lisbon, Maine. She graduated from Barber College and relocated to Portsmouth and became the youngest female (1 of only 2 females) barber in the State of New Hampshire.
Collette continued her love of customer service, working until her retirement in 2011. She had been employed as an Administrative Assistant at People's Bank, in Portsmouth, N.H. at the time of her retirement.
She loved spending time planting in her gardens, decorating for the holidays, and shopping for gifts. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and took pride in making sure each gift was thoughtful and wrapped beautifully. She especially loved spending time with family and her dog, Charlie.
She was a steady presence through every season of life--celebrating their triumphs, comforting them through sorrows, and always encouraging them with her gentle wisdom and endless love. To her family, she was home.
Collette will be remembered not only for her selflessness and kind soul, but also for her beautiful smile, her love of quiet moments, and her deep appreciation for those she held dear. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched--especially within her family, whose lives will forever be shaped by her love.
Collette is preceded in death by her husband, E. Lee Ledlow, her parents Antonio and Georgette McCarthy, and her sister, Suzanne Carter.
