ROCHESTER - Rochester Rec & Arena on Tuesday released the lineup of this summer's Concert on the Common series happening every Wednesday beginning tonight and running till Aug. 27.
This free, family-friendly concert series features a lineup of talented bands, with genres ranging from rock, pop, and jazz to blues, acoustic, and reggae, covering hits from the 1950s to today.
"Concert on the Common is a great way to get out and enjoy great music on a beautiful summer evening," said Nicole Lee, Marketing Program Coordinator. "The music is sure to be enjoyed by people of all ages -- just remember to bring a chair or blanket to sit on!"
The concert schedule is as follows:
- July 9: 3 ALARM -- Family-friendly rock and pop hits from the 70s to today.
- July 16: Truffle -- Acoustic roots and Americana favorites.
- July 23: Key Elements -- Nostalgic hits mainly from the 70s.
- July 30: 3 Shades of Gray -- Classic oldies from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.
- August 6: Cameron Drive Project -- Seven decades of rock & roll, classic to contemporary.
- August 13: Mango Groove Steel Band -- Calypso, jazz, and Caribbean rhythms.
- August 20: Mica's Groove Train -- Blues, R&B, pop, soft rock, funk/soul, and reggae.
- August 27: Kid Pinky -- Original blues, New Orleans funk, and jazz-inspired music.
Concerts will be held on Wednesdays (rain date Thursday). In July, performances run from 6:30-8 p.m.; in August, from 6-7:30 p.m.
