LELAND, N.C. - Daniel Richard Roy Sr., 62, died peacefully after ongoing health issues at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington NC. on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Dan was born August 4, 1959 in Hanover, NH to Richard R. and Pauline (Marcoux) Roy. He was raised in Rochester NH and most recently made his home in Leland, NC.

Dan graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas HS in Dover, NH in 1977. He attended Assumption College, graduated from Bentley College and received his MBA in finance from New Hampshire College.

Dan worked as a financial officer in the road construction/aggregate industry for over 30 years. His career took him from Massachusetts, to St. Louis, MO and finally to Wilmington.

Dan was involved in the communities he lived in, serving on many boards and organizations. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and was always working on a home improvement project. Dan was first and foremost a family man.

He is predeceased by his daughter, Sarah Jeanne and his father, Richard R. Roy MD. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nancy (Specker) Roy, their daughter Alison Ellis and her husband Diondre of Kansas City, MO and their son Daniel Richard Roy Jr. and his fiancée Ariana Fischer of St. Louis, MO, his mother Pauline his sisters Johane Telgener, Michele Zanca and her husband Bruce, Dominique MacDonald and her husband Tim and many nieces and nephews.
