Dorothy Roy, lovingly known as Dottie, died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 18, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on July 21, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Karl and Catherine Merz, she was a cherished sister to Robert (Louise) Merz and the late Veronica George.
Dottie was a devoted mother to Michael (Lori) of Valencia, CA, Deborah Carey (Christopher) of Elmhurst, IL, Daniel (Diane) of Milton, NH, and David of New Durham, NH; loving grandmother to Nicole (Garrett) Kinkelaar, John Carey, Brandon (Kara) Roy and Brittany Roy; and adoring great grandmother to Great Grandson Garrett Lincoln Kinkelaar. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Diane Marie, her sister Veronica George, and her parents, Karl and Catherine Merz.
Dottie worked for many years in the retail industry, where she made many friends and touched countless lives. She enjoyed traveling and had a passion for playing bingo, which brought her much joy.
