Dover Police announce traffic restrictions for water main project

DOVER - Dover Police on Monday announced the following street closing and traffic detour information to allow a private contractor to perform a water main tap at a redeveloped property located at 566 Sixth St.

Dover Community Services crews will also be on hand to assist with this work. No interruption in water service to nearby properties is expected.

On Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Sixth Street will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers in the area of 566 Sixth St. No interruption to school bus service is anticipated, aside from temporary traffic delays on Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Sixth Street will be closed to all traffic in the area of 566 Sixth St.

Other advisories include:

 Local traffic traveling north on Sixth Street from the area of County Farm Road can access Quail Dr, Reyner's Brook Dr, the Alden Woods Neighborhood, Olive Meadow, Foxtail Ridge, and all addresses up to 566 Sixth Street. No vehicles can cross north of this address.

 Local traffic traveling south on Sixth Street from the area of County Farm Cross Road can access Wildcat Drive and addresses above 566 Sixth Street. No vehicles can cross south of this address.

 Temporary traffic detours will be in effect - marked with signs - via County Farm Road and County Farm Cross Road.
