Downeast suspicious deaths determined to be result of murder-suicide

AUGUSTA, Maine - The state's Office of Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed the Sunday deaths of two in Brooklin were the result of a murder-suicide by an elderly couple.

The pair have been identified as 75-year-old William Cohen and his wife, 71-year-old Pamela Cohen. Their bodies were found at their East Road home.

Hancock County Sheriff's Office deputies responded Sunday afternoon to the home and discovered the two deceased. Major Crimes Unit North Detectives were called to assist in the investigation as were Evidence Response Technicians, according to press release sent out by the Dept. of Safety on Sunday afternoon.

No additional information will be released.
