MILTON - A rollover crash that snarled traffic in downtown Milton earlier this month was caused by driver inattention.
"The driver may have taken his eyes off the road for a moment then looked up and swerved which caused the rollover," Milton Police Chief Tom Hebert told The Rochester Voice on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on Sept. 18 around 11:45 a.m. in front of the Dollar General-Dunkin Donuts plaza on White Mountain Highway. The accident involved a white van that ended up rolled onto its side in the southbound lane.
Hebert said the driver was headed north at the time of the crash.

The chief told The Voice speed was not a factor, and there were no injuries.
During the accident investigation and cleanup, Milton and Farmington Police routed northbound traffic through the parking lot of the China Pond plaza and southbound traffic through the Dollar General plaza parking lot.
