Elks get a special guest to help celebrate Flag Day

ROCHESTER - Rochester Elks #1393 had a special guest speaker at their Flag Day Ceremony on Tuesday.
Lt. Commander Cassandra Mitchell is currently the Deputy Project Superintendent assigned to the USS Cheyenne (SSN 773) submarine overhaul at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine.
Mitchell was the guest speaker at the ceremony, which was led by Past Exalted Ruler Thomas Ducharme.
Over 50 members and guests attended the ceremony, which chronicled the history of the U.S. flag.
Members of the Rochester Emblem Club #40 presented the various versions of the U.S. flag during the ceremony.
Light refreshments were served after the service concluded.
