ROCHESTER - A pair of morning accidents on Farmington Road kept Rochester first-responders busy on Sunday, sending three motorists to the hospital and tying up traffic at two of the city's busiest intersections.

The first occurred around 9 a.m. at the Spaulding Turnpike when two vehicles collided.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Honda Civic driven by Suzanne E. Snyder, 52, of Rochester, was exiting off the Spaulding northbound ramp onto Farmington Road when she was struck by a 2001 Ford Windstar van driven by Heather Fogg, 38, of Rochester. Fogg was traveling east on Farmington Road driving toward Rochester when the accident took place, police said.

Both vehicles in the accident at the Walmart Intersection sustained heavy damage.

A 14-year-old female passenger in Snyder’s vehicle was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

Fogg was summonsed on scene for a traffic light violation.

About 10 minutes later police, fire and rescue crews were sent to another collision at Farmington Road at the Walmart intersection.

In that accident, Police say a 2012 Ford Focus driven by Lorraine Grassi, 51, of Rochester, was traveling west on Farmington Road turning left into Walmart when she was struck by a 2000 Dodge Caravan driven by Joseph A. Strout, 73, of Farmington, N.H. Strout was traveling east on Farmington Road driving toward Rochester when the incident occurred.

Both Strout and Grassi were transported by Frisbie EMS to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

The accident remains under investigation. Any motorists who may have witnessed the collision are asked to contact Officer Leccacorvi at 603-330-7127.
