On April 13 the Sanford-Springvale YMCA Trafton Center held its 4th annual Spring Fashion Show at the historic Trust Building at the corner of Main Street and Washington Street in The Town Club overlooking  Central Park. The caterer for the occasion was “Above and Beyond Catering at the Town Club”. The menu consisted of delicious and varied sandwiches, salads and a wide selection of desserts and a coffee and tea station.

The Sanford-Springvale YMCA Trafton Center is located at 19 Elm Street in Sanford. The telephone number is (207) 457-0080 and the website is: www.sanfordymca.org. ; Their Mission Statement is: “To provide a safe and welcoming environment for our members to gather and enjoy social interaction, wellness programs and opportunities for learning new skills vital to helping them maintain an active, independent and healthy lifestyle.”

Dress Barn of Biddeford Crossing and Marshalls of Sanford provided the beautiful clothes that the models wore - and the ages of the models ranged from a few months old up to “noneofyourbees’wax”. There were many summer and spring dresses as well as casual and beach clothes to view. There were also some father and daughters and mothers and daughters models which brought some sweet “aaawwwwwws” from the audience.

There were many groups of women and some men in the audience representing members and staff of the Trafton Senior Center, YMCA Board of Directors, Southern Maine Garden Club as well as many supporters from the Springvale/Sanford/Lebanon area. The event’s program announced the YMCA Sanford-Springvale Trafton Center’s gratitude to the fashion providers – Dress Barn and Marshalls; as well as the table centerpieces made by the Southern Maine Garden Club and the Lindt Chocolate Store at the Kittery Mall for their donation of spring truffles for the gift bags.
