MILTON - Evan Favorite, who has been with the Milton Police Department since 2005, has been promoted to Sergeant.
Favorite had been a corporal with the department prior to his promotion.
The move became available after former Lt. Richard Krauss was named police chief after longtime Chief Mark McGowan announced his retirement last month.
Krauss said today the lieutenant’s position will not be filled. He said there will be an in-house search for a new corporal, but the search could expand if no suitable candidate is found.
Meanwhile, a banquet is set to celebrate McGowan’s longtime service to the town at the Governor’s Inn on June 21.
Tickets for the Governor’s Inn banquet are $25 and can be obtained by calling Norrene at the Police Department at 652-4514.
