SANFORD, Maine - Police say the man shot in Sanford earlier this month was arrested Monday on criminal threatening charges.
The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the intersection of Main and Lebanon streets where witnesses said they saw a man carrying a knife walking out into the roadway and yelling at vehicles.
The male ultimately approached a food truck that was parked in the parking lot of T-Mobile where a confrontation erupted between the owner of the truck and the man with the knife.
The male with the knife was shot, according to police, who said the shooter is facing no charges at this time.
Ashe "Scott" Schaffer, 29, of 11 Lebanon St., Sanford, was charged with felony criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. He was arrested upon discharge from Maine Medical Center after receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to the leg.
Ashe is being held at Cumberland County Jail.
Police did not release the name of the shooter.
