ROCHESTER - The city's three pools are now in full operation just in time to help foks coll off during a four-day heat wave that will take hold in the Greater Rochester area on Tuesday.
The heat will actually begin building today with a high of 84 but a heat index of 98 with all the humidity. Then through Friday the heat will stay on with temps in the high 90s and heat indexes topping 102 on Wednesday.
The sun's rays on Tuesday and Wednesday will also produce the highest UV indexes which can cause damage to skin and eyes.
The heat wave will finally snap on Friday with a couple of afternoon thunderstorms, but look for plenty of heat all the way through next week, meteorologists say.
