ROCHESTER - Any youngster interested in making a fashion statement that reflects their "Summer of '25" is invited to join in the fun during a Tie-Dye Party that will be held on Central Square on July 26.
The event is sponsored by Guyer Travel and owner Dillon Geyer, who said he's held several such outings, including one recently that drew some 1,000 participants.
Guyer said school-age children are invited to bring any cloth garment or item on which they'd like to make their own creation.
Guyer said any cloth item, preferably white, is the ideal medium for any design.
"It just takes 30 to 40 minutes to do one," he said. "Guests can bring their own shirts or tote bags and create a colorful masterpiece at the free community tie-dye station. All school-age children are welcome."
Guyer will also be giving his own Tie-Dye demonstration on a full tuxedo, a blazer and some Guyer Travel shirts.
"It's fairly easy to do, and we take care of everything," he said.
The Tie-Dye Party runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
The program is one of several July events organized by Rochester Main Street.
A Bigfoot Scavenger Hunt in collaboration with Maple Street Magnet School is ongoing this month. Participants can search for cutouts around the downtwon, complete challenges and earn raffle entries throughout the month.
Bubbles & Music with Sages Entertainment will put on a performance on Saturday from 10. a.m. to noon on Central Square. Families are invited to enjoy a morning filled with live music and giant bubbles -- a perfect way to celebrate summer together.
These events reflect Rochester Main Street's ongoing commitment to activating downtown spaces, supporting local businesses and fostering opportunities for neighbors to connect, according to Main Street officials.
