DOVER - The New Hampshire Department of Transportation will perform nighttime construction work on the Spaulding Turnpike in Dover to complete the erection of a new tolling gantry structure.

On Wednesday night between the hours of 6 p.m. and midnight construction crews will erect a new tolling gantry structure across both northbound and southbound barrels near the existing Dover Toll Plaza. Lane closures and rolling roadblocks with uniformed police officers will be utilized to control traffic during these operations. The rolling roadblock for the gantry erection is expected to take 15 minutes and is anticipated to occur around 9 p.m. Additional, shorter term rolling roadblocks may also be necessary to complete the work.

Motorists should exercise caution when driving through the construction zone. Motorists are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.

The work is weather dependent and is expected to be completed in one night.

The work is part of the Dover-Rochester 29440 project. R.S. Audley of Bow is the prime contractor for the $23 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in June 2024.
