ROCHESTER - Gloria Erickson, 90, of 11 Heron Way in Barrington, died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover.
She was born March 2, 1928 in Medford, Mass., the daughter of William and Olga Gruhn. She was a graduate of Tufts University, Class of 1949. Gloria worked for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services for many years. She also obtained her private pilot license and flew an airplane at Sky Haven Airport. She and her husband operated the Hi-Vu Motor Inn at the top of Rochester Hill for many years.
Gloria enjoyed socializing, and camping and travelling, family get-togethers especially hosting Christmas eve parties all of her life. Her smile and positive energy would light up a room. She had many talents including poetry, writing and painting and was a best friend to many dogs and cats during her lifetime. She loved her home on the lake and enjoyed all who came to visit and had so many friends who loved her. She will be greatly missed.
Members of her family include her husband of 67 years, Alfred Erickson; her children: Robert, Lee, Lois and Paul; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and longtime friend, Elaine Chevalier.
