ROCHESTER - A multi-agency early morning drug bust on Lafayette Street netted the arrests of three fugitives, one of whom was dealing drugs on the street at the time of the raid.
The arrests carried out by members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Strafford County Sheriff's Office and Rochester Police Department saw three taken into custody at 55 Lafayette St.
Surveillance assets witnessed primary target Remy Lopez, 39, making hand-to-hand transactions in front of the residence prior to the sting.
Lopez was issued a federal arrest warrant on Jan. 29 after a petition alleging 11 violations of federal supervised release conditions was submitted to the U.S. District Court in Concord, according to a statement released on Friday. He was on supervised release stemming from a 2019 case where he was found guilty of distributing fentanyl.
Marshals worked with Rochester Police detectives and the Strafford County's drug task force officers to locate Lopez. During their investigation they witnessed other people with open arrest warrants at the Lafayette Street residence.
Seven people were found at the residence Friday including six found hiding in either the basement or an attached barn.
Tyler Emery. 31, and Damia Green, 23, along with two other females, had to be ordered out of an alcove and storage closet in the basement. Emery and Green were taken to the Rochester Police Station on local warrants. Emery had outstanding warrants for theft and failing to appear for a felon in possession charge, while Green was wanted for theft and an unauthorized taking charge. Charges are pending for the other females.
Lopez and Brittany Adjutant, 34, escaped the main residence through a doggy door leading to an attached barn. according to a press release. They surrendered after Task Force officers forced entry into the structure.
Lopez was taken to U.S. District Court where he was arraigned Friday afternoon.
Adjutant was transported by emergency medical technicians to receive medical treatment for conditions unrelated to the law enforcement operation.
A representative from the USMS Task Force said this was the second time in as many weeks that the residence was targeted for law enforcement action. On Jan. 15, three others were arrested after arrest and search warrants were served.
Rochester Police Chief Gary Boudreau said law enforcement partnerships like this help to remove bad actors from the city.
"We value the partnerships this department has with our regional and federal agencies," he said. "We are pleased to see the results of these partnerships positively influencing the Rochester community."
Lopez, formerly of Gonic, is no stranger to local law enforcement. He pleaded guilty in Strafford Superior Court in 2019 to charges of meth possession, felony wearing of body armor and resisting arrest, and received a 12-month sentence for several drug possession charges, a probation violation and resisting arrest.
In January 2023 following a late-night traffic stop on Hanson Street he was charged with driving after revocation/suspension, operating with an expired license, being a felon in possession of dangerous weapons and carrying/selling weapons.
