Editor's note: This story was reported by Lebanon Voice editor Harrison Thorp, who is running for state representative for Maine House 20.

LEBANON – Maine House 20 candidate Harrison Thorp released another YouTube video on Wednesday, this time a song highlighting his platform as a conservative Republican locked in what could be a close primary battle with Lebanon Selectmen Chair Karen Gerrish.

The new House 20 seat comprises Acton, Lebanon and part of Shapleigh.

The song is sung to the tune of Roger Miller’s “Trailer for Sale or Rent.”

“I was searching for a song that would be appropriate to voice my platform and thought of the second stanza in Miller’s lyrics about 'third boxcar midnight train, destination Bangor, Maine.'

“We just had the GOP convention in Bangor in April, so it seemed appropriate. Plus, my budget is on a shoestring, so ''a rep of means by no means' also seemed in order.”

Thorp’s other campaign YouTube video centers on the purported old boy network style of politics that has been prevalent in the town of Lebanon for so long.

The primary vote is scheduled for Tuesday, and Thorp said he needs a large turnout to win.

The title of the song on Youtube.com is 'Harrison for House 20'. The song video can be viewed by clicking here.
