The all-singing, all-dancing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat dazzles at the Rochester Opera House from Feb. 28 to March 2 with evening and matinee performances.

With vivid color and vivacious song and dance, this musical parable of Joseph is a multi-colored family friendly treat. This Old Testament tale, told anew by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is set to an eclectic mix of musical styles from pop, rock and calypso to country-western.  Sharon Asher Arsenault directs a jubilant cast of 48, including the Rainbow Chorus, 24 talented young people from around the Seacoast.

Joseph, his father’s (John Flynn) favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When his jealous brothers sell him into slavery, Joseph (Dallas Freeman) endures a series of adventures that test his spirit and humanity. Ten years later, and now second in command over Egypt, Joseph is faced with a dilemma. How shall he respond to the brothers, who betrayed him? This timeless story splashes on stage with exuberance, humor and delightful music, directed by Jeremy Asher.

You can purchase tickets online at RochesterOperaHouse.com or call/stop by the box office at (603) 335-1992 on M/W/F from 10-5 or two hours before the show.  Joseph is sponsored by TD Bank, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Albany International, Wentworth Douglass Hospital Women’s and Children’s Center and THE BAY 98.7. Rochester Opera House is located in City Hall, 31 Wakefield Street, Rochester NH.  The season continues with The Diary of Anne Frank 3/6-16 and Celtic Nights 3/9.
