DOVER - Sally Staude is a woman on a mission to save children from the tentacles of public education, which is seeking to subvert parents' rights to raise their children the way they want to, she said.
"Unfortunately, right now, our public schools are making many decisions involving our kids that parents know nothing about and probably would not agree with," she wrote in a letter to the editor that was published in The Rochester Voice on Friday.
Staude, a former school board and state rep candidate, told The Voice on Friday that she is trying to raise awareness of three bills currently being considered in Concord.

Two bill are parental rights bills while the third is specifically intended to prohibit school involvement in gender transition procedures for minors.
Staude said some of the Dover school practices that usurp parental rights include the schools running surveys, treating kids for mental health issues, evaluating beliefs and values and advising on transgender options.
"I've heard from several parents that at least one girls' bathroom has a litter box to accommodate female students who identify as a cat," she said, adding the bathroom in question is located at the high school.
Staude is also infuriated that a Dover elementary school library offers a book to students called It's Perfectly Normal that describes the sex act in great detail including graphic images of adult men and women having sex. The book says it is intended for ages 10 and up.

The bills that will be discussed in Concord on Tuesday include:
SB272 Establishing a parents' bill of rights in education
Tuesday, March 7- 9:00am- (Rm LOB101)
HB619 Prohibiting gender transition procedures for minors.......
Tuesday March 7- 10:00am (Reps Hall)-
HB10 Establishing the parental bill of rights
Tuesday, March 7- 1:15pm (Rm 206-208)
The public is invited to testify in support of the bills.
Staude said much damage is being done to students through peer pressure, teachers seeking to indoctrinate instead of teach and Tiktok.
She said school counselors are seeking to influence them, and that behavior specialists are counseling them without parental knowledge.
She blames Tiktok for a lot of student angst as well, adding a big issue right now is anorexia in young girls, and she said a current Tiktok challenge is telling them not to eat.
"Some are ending up in hospitals with feeding tubes," said Staude, who moved to Dover three years ago.
A former research and development specialist in the pharmaceutical industry, she said she's raising her voice to save our children and grandchildren.
"I'm trying to be loud enough to get people involved," she said. "We have to get parents to wake up."
