MILTON MILLS - John Everett Bodwell, 85, of Jug Hill Road in Milton Mills, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at Colonial Hill of Rochester. Born December 5, 1932 in Acton, Maine, son of Wilbur and Myrtle (Howard) Bodwell, he had resided in Wakefield, and resided in Milton Mills since 1969.
A United States Army veteran, he served during the Korean War. He was a member of the former VFW of Union. John was proud to have marched in many of the area parades, for many years representing the VFW and the United States Army.
John had worked at Green Tannery in Milton Mills and Davidson Rubber Company in Farmington. He was also self employed working with building and construction with his sons, Bodwell Builders and Lance's Landscaping.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and camping or "junking" with Herbert "Heaper" Clough.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Audrey (Miliner) Bodwell and their children, Deborah and husband Frank Downs of Farmington, Charles and wife Sandy Bodwell of Farmington, Lance and wife Andrea Bodwell of Milton; grandchildren Ted, Regina, Lindsey, Cody and Megan; great-grandchildren Brandon, Kevin and Lucas and great-great-granddaughter Adeline; a brother Robert (Bobby) Bodwell of N.C.; two sisters: Lura Bodwell of Ashland, N.H., and Florida, June Sandburg of Wisconsin; also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters Mary and Etta.
