Kathleen Rioux ... longtime Rochester resident; at 88

ROCHESTER - Kathleen "Kay" Rioux, 88, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025. Born and raised in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, she was the daughter of William and Sarah (McCarron) Meehan.

A longtime resident of Rochester, New Hampshire, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Moose" Rioux, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. She found her greatest joy in time spent with family, gardening, shopping trips to Sal's Boutique, and a good game of Sequence with family and friends. Kay loved music, dancing, the beach, and the simple pleasure of a good yard sale.

Kay never missed a birthday and delighted in celebrating her family's accomplishments. She carefully saved countless newspaper clippings, from school events to sports and honor roll announcements, each one a quiet testament to her enduring pride.

Kay is survived by her children, Guy Rioux, Sheila Benton (husband Jon), and Roger Rioux, and by her sister, Anna Warren. She leaves eight grandchildren: Sean Benton, Sarah Whitmore, Liam Benton, Colin Rioux, Elizabeth Rioux, Gabrille Rioux, James Rioux, and Grace Rioux; and seven great-grandchildren: Ella Benton, Brooke Benton, Benjamin Whitmore Jr., Emilie Whitmore, Conley Benton, Callahan Benton, and Sidney Tessler. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Meehan, and sister, Mary Toti.
