LEBANON, Maine - The victim of a vicious stabbing attack on Monday is is out of the hospital and recovering back in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, the suspect, Jeremy Potvin, 35, formerly of Little Falls Road in Rochester, N.H., continues to be held on $150,000 cash bail at Strafford County Jail, staff personnel said today.
Potvin, who now lives in Sanbornville, N.H., was charged with attempted murder after police say he entered the victim's residence on West Lebanon Road on Monday and stabbed him multiple times in the face, back, chest and head.
Potvin apparently entered the residence uninvited and began stabbing the man, according to a press release sent out by York County Sheriff William King Monday night.
The two were known to each other, police say.
The incident unfolded around 2 p.m. when York County Deputies were called to West Lebanon Road in Lebanon for a "disturbance."
While en route to the call, deputies were notified there was a stabbing at the residence and the 52-year-old victim had left the residence seeking medical attention for his injuries.
According to Sheriff King, Deputy Jason Solomon intercepted the victim on Carl Broggi Highway (Route 202) and summoned rescue units to the scene.
The victim was transported to Maine Medical Center due to the extent of his injuries. The Rochester Voice has learned that he is now back in Lebanon recovering at the home of a family member.
