DOVER - Leslie Feliciano of Rochester won a special election for a spot on the board of Strafford County Commissioners on Tuesday.
The vote came in the wake of the retirement of Joe Pitre, who retired earlier this year after winning the seat last November.
Feliciano's opponent for the seat was Susan Rice of Rochester, who lost the vote, 20-8. Four other delegates voted "present."
The voters in the special election comprise the Strafford County Delegation, who are state reps from throughout the county.
Prior to the vote both Feliciano and Rice made opening statements followed by about a half hour of follow-up questions to both candidates by various members of the delegation.
Feliciano was not immediately available for comment today.

Strafford County Commissioners Chairman George Maglaras was also unavailable.
