ROCHESTER - Linda Lee Steer, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Portsmouth, after a period of declining health.
Born on October 15, 1941, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Wilfred and Clarice Laverdiere.
Linda graduated from Spaulding High School in 1959 and went on to attend Brigham Young University. In 1965, she married Paul Steer, and the couple returned to the Rochester area to raise their family. Together, they had one son, Paul J. Steer.
She enjoyed a long and dedicated career with the Rochester Housing Authority, retiring in 1996. Known for her vibrant spirit, Linda had a deep love for music and dancing--especially the jitterbug--and could often be found dancing along to the beloved classics of her youth.
Linda adored her grandchildren and cherished time spent with them. She was also a devoted animal lover, always surrounded by the company of her beloved dogs and cats.
She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Paul D. Steer, and her brother, John Laverdiere of Rochester.
Linda is survived by her son, Paul Steer, and his wife Stephanie; her grandchildren, Stephen and Matthew; her sister, Carole, sister in law Marilyn; and many other close relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
