Longtime local sports reporter who wrote book will speak at library

ROCHESTER - The Rochester Public Library will welcome longtime sportswriter Mike Whaley to share his collection of stories and columns following his more-than 30-year career in the newspaper industry.

Whaley's journey began as a contributor to the former Rochester Courier. He then worked for Foster's Daily Democrat and the former Rochester Times.

Whaley's upcoming release, titled A Pen for All Seasons, offers an insider's perspective on the world of sports throughout Seacoast New Hampshire and Maine.

The event is set for Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Community Room of the Rochester Public Library at 65 South Main St. Admission is free.
