SKOWHEGAN, Maine - A Palmyra man has been indicted by a Somerset County grand jury in the July death of a Rochester, N.H., native who moved up to the Detroit area of the state several years ago.

Jason C. Cote, 22, is charged in the July 17 murder of Ricky Cole, according to the indictment handed down Friday.

Cote allegedly beat Cole, 47, with a pipe in a mobile home he rented in Detroit.

Cote entered no plea during his initial appearance July 26 in Superior Court.

Court documents allege Cote went to Cole’s residence that night to get more Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug.
