NASHUA - The Nashua man killed Friday in an officer-involved shooting died of a gunshot wound to the chest, the state's chief medial examiner announced on Sunday.

Heath Thompson, 40, was shot by police who responded to an early morning domestic dispute on Marie Avenue.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

The fatal officer-involved shooting was the second in New Hampshire in just 10 days.

A Manchester robbery suspect was killed on Jan. 12 in an officer-involved shooting during a confrontation with police including a K9 unit.

Jake Chiaradonna, 35, was shot and killed by police after he assaulted a police dog twice during multiple confrontations with officers who were attempting to arrest him.

The investigation into the officer-involved shooting of Thompson is ongoing, and the identity of the officers who used deadly force will not be disclosed until formal interviews of all occur in the coming days.
