ROCHESTER - The man seriously injured in a one-car crash near the intersection of Highland and Portland streets in East Rochester on Friday is listed today in satisfactory condition at a Portland hospital.
William Clark Jr., 61, of Rochester was injured when his eastbound 2002 Buick Century veered to the right off Route 202 just east of the four-way stop sign and into woods over a steep embankment.
Clark was Medflighted to Maine Medical Center in Portland after emergency personnel were able to extricate him from the vehicle despite being repeatedly stung by a swarm of bees disturbed by the crash.
The Buick sustained significant damage to the front and was towed.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
