MILTON - From fine crystal to homemade candles and everything else in between – including the kitchen sink - Town Line Flea Market’s grand opening had something for everyone at its grand opening on Saturday.

Even a rock band and a free raffle.

Milton’s newest business is located at 61 Old Wakefield Road right on the border with Rochester and is housed in a warehouse that was previously used by Paul Allard and Eastern Boats Inc.

Now it has been cozily and quaintly transformed into a mammoth flea market jam-packed with furniture, appliances, household goods and collectibles.

A browser checks out some of the bargains  on display on Saturday at Town Line Flea Market's grand opening.

Flea market owner Janice Brown said on Saturday she wanted to give flea market enthusiasts a chance to unplug from a plethora of Facebook flea market and yard sale sites that depersonalize what is a pastime for some and a profession for others.

“I wanted to be an alternative to that, plus you get to meet a lot of people,” Brown said.

Brown said folks can rent space at her shop or leave items on consignment, or even bring items in to sell outright.

On Saturday to celebrate the grand opening rock band War Horse played and there were free raffles and candy for shoppers to enjoy.

Brown said Thursdays will feature Project Nights at the shop with instruction and materials provided for making things like lamps and other household items. She said one price – which will vary with the project – will include food, beverage and everything needed to complete the project.

She said there will be a signup sheet at the shop and folks can also visit her store online at Facebook, key words: Town Line Flea Market.

Brown said she also hopes to have live auctions in the near future.

The store is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., later on Thursday for Project Night.

For more information contact Brown at 603.834.0180 or shop Manager Nancy Wing at 207.746.7888.
