MILTON - For the first time in more than a decade Milton Moose Lodge 1298 has its kitchen back and has begun offering members and guests prepared meals on Thursday and Friday night.
Lodge Administrator Stacey Schmelebeck said he is excited to be offering this new service for lodge members.
"We also hope to increase membership plus bring more people into the lodge for social events," he said on Wednesday. "This helps to make the lodge grow and be able to help support the community even more."
Schmelebeck added that they were thrilled to have longtime professional chef and Moose member Jeff Pankratz handle the duties of chief cook.

He also credited Moose member Steve Roy with helping to modernize the kitchen.
Among last week's menu items was a Milton Smash Burger that included two three-ounce patties smashed thin and seared hard, served on a sesame bun with melted American, Moose Sauce, sliced pickles and shredded lettuce, with a serving of fries for $10.
Tonight's menu includes a sausage hoagie with peppers and onions, or white chicken chili with hush puppies on the side.
Schmelebeck said he was thrilled with the turnout among members and guests the past couple of weeks.
Milton Moose Lodge President Mitch Turner said he was hoping to expand the hours and perhaps days in the future.
He added that newcomers to the lodge are welcomed.
"Any member of the public interested in becoming a Moose Lodge member please stop by and a Moose member will invite you in as guest," Turner said. "If you would like, you can then apply to be a member."

The Milton Moose is located at 288 White Mountain Highway across from the Milton Veterinarian Clinic. They can be reached by phone at 603.652.9750
