Mobile home fire in Unity claims life of one person

UNITY - An investigation is under way after a one person was killed Sunday in a mobile home fire in Unity.

Fire crews responded to a call for an outdoors fire around 6 p.m. at 299 Quaker City Road in Unity. When the first crews arrived, however, they found a mobile home fully consumed in flames.

Once the fire was put out responders entered the home and found a victim located inside the mobile home, according to a release from the state fire marshals office.

The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to verify their identity and confirm their cause and manner of death.

The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal's Office and the Unity Fire Department are actively investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
