Motorcyclist killed in collision on Route 28 in Barnstead

BARNSTEAD - A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car Thursday on Route 28 in Barnstead.

The accident occurred around 9:05 p.m. in the area of Kent Lane.
A preliminary investigation determined that the rider of the motorcycle, a 2022 Kawasaki Z900RS, was headed south when it collided with a 2023 Tesla Model Y traveling in the opposite direction.
The motorcycle rider, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The rider's name is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation and next of kin notification. The driver and sole occupant of the Tesla, sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention.
A portion of Route 28 in Alton and Barnstead was closed for approximately three hours while Troopers investigated the collision.
