LEBANON - Elizabeth J. Smith, 91, of Lebanon, died at her home on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Rochester, N.H., on Dec. 28, 1921, to Robert and Leona (Vachon) Emmond. She grew up in Rochester where she attended local schools. In 1942 she married Ervin H. Smith. Together, they raised three children and shared 33 years of marriage until his death in 1975.

Elizabeth was employed for many years at Hubbard Shoe in Rochester. She went on to work as a cook at the Greenwood Center until they relocated to Sanford. She then took a job at Blueberry Hill Farm in Acton where she stayed for many years until her retirement. Elizabeth was a music lover and enjoyed playing the piano. She was an excellent cook and took pride in preparing wonderful meals for her family. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and watching the birds. Elizabeth was a quiet woman and liked to spend time at home with her family. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are three children, Susan Moody and her husband, Terry, of Lebanon, Saunda Walsh and her husband, Michael, and Steve Smith and his wife, Sandy, of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Roberta Paquin and her husband Harvey of South Carolina, a sister-in-law, Dot Emmond of Rochester and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street in Sanford. Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery in Lebanon.

Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
