ROCHESTER - Richard “Dickie” Howard, 52, passed away Oct. 3, 2013, due to a short illness. 

During his final days, he was surrounded by the love of his family and friends. 

Richard was born in Rochester, Oct. 28, 1960. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Clare, and two devoted daughters, Amanda and Katie. As well as his beloved dogs, Buck and Boots. He will be deeply missed by his parents; Russell and Bette Howard, four sisters; Joyce Naujoks, Florence Howard, Barbie Meserve and Lorraine Howard, as well as his brother Russell Howard. He is also remembered by his nephews and nieces; Michael, Chris, Shane, Brent, Jill and Sophie.

At the age of 12, Richard was employed at Riverside Rest Home, and worked his way up to head chef. At age 25 he started his own company, Tri City Lawn Care Inc., which he devoted the next 27 years of his life to. During his time away from work he enjoyed time spent relaxing with his family and pets. He is fondly remembered as a drummer and an avid concert goer. He loved camping, bonfires, and spending time on his boat. His biggest passion in life was helping animals, whether it be giving medicine to sick foxes around his property or giving water to a dog chained to a fence. He was loved and admired by everyone who met him.
