ROCHESTER - A redevelopment agreement for the former Saint Elizabeth Seton School property that will lead to the constructions of 54 new apartments and a walkway across the Cocheco River that will lead back to the downtown was recently signed by the city and the principal developer.

The agreement is between the City of Rochester and 16 Bridge Street Development, LLC, led by local developer Steven K. Miller, who recently completed a neighboring 50+ unit housing project at nearby Fownes Mill Court.

The City retained a public easement along the Cocheco River to ensure continued public access to a boardwalk, connecting the property to the existing path off North Main Street.

"This project supports the City's goal of creating additional housing opportunities and walkability in the downtown area," said Economic Development Director Scala. "The success of this project is part of Rochester's continued efforts to encourage redevelopment, strengthen the tax base, and attract new residents and visitors that will, in turn, support our local downtown economy."

Construction is expected to move forward in phases, with ongoing coordination between the developer and the City of Rochester. For additional information or questions, contact the Department of Economic Development at (603) 335-7522 or michael.scala@rochesternh.gov.
