Pair of Dover transients arrested in early morning Somersworth robbery, stabbing

SOMERSWORTH - Two suspects in the strong-arm robbery of a man in Somersworth earlier in the day were arrested Friday afternoon.

Jake Hagy, 28, and Shania Bergeron, 21, both Dover transients, were taken into custody by Somersworth Police officers along with K9 "Bravo" around 6:15 p.m.

Hagy and Bergeron were arrested at the Canal Street Apartments.

Both were held on preventative detention and transported to the Strafford County Department of Corrections pending Monday arraignments in Strafford County Superior Court.

Police got involved after responding around 1:30 a.m. on Friday to a parking area near 36 Canal St, where the male victim had received a stab wound and other blunt trauma injuries in an attack by two assailants.

The victim was transported to Wentworth Douglass Hospital with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries.
