NORTH LEBANON - A pedestrian walking along Milton Mills Road in North Lebanon was hit by a car as night fell on Monday.

Lebanon Rescue was dispatched to the accident at 4:39, about a half-hour after sunset, according to almanacs.

The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Goodall Hospital in Sanford, according to a Lebanon Rescue press release.

Overcast skies prevented any helicopter rescue from Dartmouth-Hitchcock or Lifeflight of Maine.

There was no personal information on the pedestrian or the driver of the car who hit them.

The road was closed from Keay Road to the Acton town line for several hours while State Police reconstruction teams tried to figure out what happened.
