ROCHESTER - It's been a week since a man robbed the Rochester Walgreen's at gunpoint, and while Rochester Police say they've gotten a number of leads they're working, no arrest has been made.
"At this time, we are following up with leads and tips that come in but there is no new information," Rochester Police Capt. Jeremy Aucoin told The Voice on Wednesday.
It was just last Thursday that a man walked into the South Main Street pharmacy around 3:20 a.m., showed a gun to an employee and demanded prescription drugs.
According to a statement from Rochester Police, the male handed the pharmacist a note claiming to have a firearm and brandished a portion of the firearm during the incident.
The suspect, who left the store headed in the area of Winter Street, is described as a black male, six feet tall with average build, wearing a black face mask, a black puffy jacket with hood, black jean style pants, a black hat, dark colored shoes and work gloves.
Rochester Police deployed a K9 team, but the track went cold.
Police say it's possible the suspect left the area in a white SUV, but it's not clear if the vehicle was involved.
Police have not released what specific drugs the suspect demanded.
Rochester Police are asking anyone who may have information that could assist with the investigation to call the Rochester Police Department at 603-330-7128. Tipsters can also provide information and remain anonymous by calling the Rochester Crime Line at 603-335-6500. Cash rewards are offered for information that leads to an arrest.
