Probe continues in July BUI, criminal threatening case on Squam Lake

HOLDERNESS -- An Ashland man has been arrested for boating under the influence and criminal threatening in an incident from July that continues to be investigated.

According to a statement released from state police marine patrol on Sunday, police got involved around 10 p.m. on July 30 after reports of a hazardous boater threatening individuals on the shore of Squam Lake.

When Marine Patrol Officers arrived they located the boater, identified as Joseph D. Wescott, 44, of Ashland, and determined that he had been boating impaired.

Wescott was arrested and charged with boating under the influence and criminal threatening. He was transported to the Grafton County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment.
