ROCHESTER - Who lives in a pineapple under the sea and became the hottest star on Broadway?

Why, it's SpongeBob SquarePants!

And now he's riding the wave of comedy and an amazing set list to entertain and delight audiences in this brilliant, bright, hilarious musical. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world!

The show is not your typical musical - a set of 18 songs penned by high-profile rock and pop artists ranging from the Flaming Lips, Cindy Lauper, Lady A, T.I., and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler & Joe Perry - to Panic! At the Disco, John Legend, Sara Bareilles, The Plain White T's, and even David Bowie.

Casting includes Michelle Faria as Spongebob Squarepants, Paige Morin as Sandy Cheeks, Toby Laber-Smith as Patrick Star, and Bill Hartery as Mr. Krabs. The musical will be directed by Billy Butler and choreographed by Adrienne Maitland. The Spongebob Musical runs Wednesdays through Sundays, opening Friday through Aug. 27.
