Red Raiders: Band on the run

Members of the Spaulding High School band practice their moves at Hugo Bolin Field in Rochester as they prepare for the halftime shows at this year’s home varsity football games, which start next month. Wednesday was the fifth day of a weeklong instruction being led by Rochester Director of Music Joanne Houston. Other music directors include Ron Goodwin and Cheryl Richardson. Tomorrow night the band will have sort of a dress rehearsal for their halftime shows. Dressed in white T-shirts and black pants, they will perform at 7 at Hugo Bolin Field, said Houston, who, herself, is celebrating her 30th year working in the Rochester music program.
