ROCHESTER - The Rochester Fire Department announced on Friday that Captain Devon Pageau has been promoted to the position of Assistant Fire Chief for the City of Rochester, effective Sunday.

According to Chief Nick Marique, Pageau brings more than 25 years of fire service experience, including 11 years with the Rochester Fire Department, where he has served as a firefighter, lieutenant, and, most recently, captain on B-Shift.

Marique says he is confident Pageau will be a strong addition to the command staff, stating, "As Assistant Fire Chief, he will support the day-to-day operations of the department and assist in advancing operational and administrative priorities, and I look forward to working with him in this capacity."

Marique who was promoted to chief in March, is also a longtime Rochester firefighter.

He has served in the Rochester Fire Department for 21 years and brings more than 26 years of experience in the fire service.

Marique's appointment followed the retirement of Fire Chief Mike George, which was announced in early March.

Marique also serves as the Milton Fire Chief.
