DOVER - A Rochester man accused of being a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of crack cocaine is facing more than 20 years in state prison following his indictment by a Strafford County grand jury earlier this month.
Jeremy Albert, 39, of South Elderberry Lane, Rochester, was arrested in Dover on Aug. 14, when police found him with a metal "expandable baton/billie," a deadly weapon, according to New Hampshire statute.
Albert was also charged with possessing a quantity of crack cocaine, his second such offense following his conviction on a similar charge in April 2013.
The weapons charge could result in up to seven years in state prison, while the subsequent drug possession charge could draw up to 15 years.
The Strafford County grand jury indictments were handed down on Oct. 16 and released on Friday.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been presented to a grand jury to move forward to trial.
