ROCHESTER - Heather Ferris, and her wife, Tina, of Rochester said Saturday's annual Rochester Pride Day event was all about bringing the LGBTQ community together, but more than that, bringing everyone together.
"We want to celebrate not only LGBTQ, but everybody," said Heather Ferris. 'It's also about bringing all of us together in a safe space."
The annual event was held on Hanson Street in Rochester, where about 1,000 eventgoers showed up to peruse some 40 vendors that lined the street.
Among the vendors was a nonprofit run by Bobby Judson of Sunset Drive in Rochester.
Judson, a volunteer and contributor to many philantrhopic causes in the city, became a nonprofit in February, he told The Rochester Voice.
"We try to take care of those with special needs, low incomes and veterans," he said.
Many throughout the city know of Judson's spectacular Halloween and Christmas displays outside his Sunset Drive home not far from Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Speakers at the event included New Hampshire Congressman Chris Pappas; State Senator Debra Altschiller, former Rochester city councilor and homeless advocate Amy Malone and Dillon Guyer of Guyer Travel.
