ROCHESTER - The City of Rochester will begin curbside collection of leaves and other yard waste on regular trash days during the next two weeks from Monday until Nov. 7.
To keep in compliance, yard waste must be placed in brown paper leaf bags, and brush should be cut into three-foot lengths and bundled, city officials say.
Residents may also drop off yard and leaf waste at the Turnkey Drop-off Center on 18 Isinglass Drive, open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents should not place yard waste in trash or recycling barrels, or near storm drains, ponds, or wetlands, as it can pollute waterways with fertilizers and pesticides, according to a release from the city.
