Rose Marie (Rosie) Fenton died Thursday, July 25, 2024, after a short illness. She was 92. Rosie was one of five children, born to Henry Lanouette and Yvonne Bellemore Goodman. She had one brother Henri Lanouette, and three sisters, Yvonne Lanouette Gagnon, Alice Lanouette, Billings, and Lorraine Lanouette Dussault.

Rosie was a Faithful member of Saint Joseph's church in Dover, where she wed the love of her life Robert (Bobby) Matthew Fenton, who she famously asked, "so what's it gonna be Fenton, are ya gonna marry me or not?"

She leaves her first born and only son Daniel Fenton and his wife Colleen, her middle child Donna (Fenton) Shackelford and her husband Newton and the baby of the family Paula (Fenton) Chick.

She also leaves six handsome grandsons, Adam Turcotte, Ryan Turcotte and his wife, Nikki, Jeremy Fenton and his wife, Taryn, Shane Fenton and his wife, Ashley, Aaron Shackelford, and Samuel Shackelford.

She found so much joy in her five great grandchildren, Tyler Turcotte, Benjamin Turcotte, Maddison Fenton, Delilah Fenton, and Olivia Fenton. She also had a loving extended family with in laws, nieces and nephews and her best friend of 75 years, Doris Hood and longtime friend Fran Abraham.

Rosie had so many wonderful interests. She loved having her hands in the dirt and cultivating flowers and growing her tomatoes. She loved York Beach, Maine, and was often found body surfing in the ocean over the summer. She also loved reading whether it be a love story by Nicholas Sparks, a Thriller by James Patterson or a mystery by Barbara Taylor Bradford.

After retiring from a number of years in civil service, she joined the South Berwick Senior Center where on Wednesdays and Thursdays you could find her line dancing with her girlfriends Mary Ellen Buckley and Sylvia Miller.

The pride of her life, of course, were her kids, her grandkids, and her great grandkids. In her final days, her face would light up anytime the little ones would come into the room.

Her kids are confident that she goes onto the next life with no regrets. She always commented on how she had a blessed life, and her life was filled with gratitude. Because of this positive outlook on life, she blessed everyone that she met. The people that knew her were touched by her love, integrity, humor, sensitivity, and generosity. She was beautiful inside and out, and she will be greatly missed.
