S. Hampton woman injured in crash with stationary work truck

EAST KINGSTON - A South Hampton woman suffered serious injuries after crashing into a truck in East Kingston on Wednesday.

The accident occurred around 12:26 p.m. on South Road and was investigated by State Police out of the Epping barracks.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2015 Jeep Patriot, driven by Erin Baker, 53, of South Hampton, was traveling southbound on South Road, when it left its lane of travel, crossed the road and collided with the rear end of a stationary 1994 International 9200 6x4 truck. The International truck was unoccupied at the time of crash.

As a result of the collision, Baker suffered serious injuries and was transported by medical helicopter to an area hospital for treatment.
