LEBANON, Maine - A York County sheriff's deputy pulled over a Rollinsford man for a traffic violation on Tuesday and wound up making a significant drug bust.
Deputy Cody Frazier was on an enforcement detail in Lebanon around 12:30 p.m. looking for impaired or distracted drivers when he stopped a vehicle on a traffic infraction, according to a Wednesday press release from York County Sheriff William King.
The male operator provided a false name to the deputy during the traffic stop and was arrested for providing false information. The subject was subsequently identified as Bo Rodden, 32, of Rollinsford, N.H.
King noted that probable cause was established to search the vehicle, where the deputy found about 109 grams of fentanyl and 161 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
The street value of the fentanyl is around $15,000 and the methamphetamine around $16,000, King said. Also seized was $1,860.00 in suspected drug proceeds.
Rodden was transported to the York County Jail where he was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs. Rodden made his initial appearance in Springvale District Court on Wednesday where bail was set at $2,500.
Rodden was released on bail Wednesday night, York County Jail personnel said today.
The York County Sheriff's Office began law enforcement duties in the town of Lebanon last month, taking over for Maine State Police who had been patrolling the town for about a decade.
