Rochester area residents can expect a mixed bag of snow, sleet and freezing rain or ice today and Sunday, leading to dangerous travel conditions, slippery sidewalks and possible power outages.
Forecasters are predicting about two inches of rain, sleet around half an inch and about a quarter of an inch of ice in Rochester and all of Strafford County.
A dusting of snow already accumulated on Northern Seacoast early this morning, but it is not expected to last long into the day.
Off and on sleet, however, will continued throughout the day before it turns over to freezing rain overnight.
As temperatures rise into the mid-30s Sunday morning a steady rain will pick up and last till around noon before returning in the late afternoon and well into Sunday night off and on and even through Monday, when temperatures climb into the 60s
The sun, meanwhile, won't break out again till Tuesday, when cooler temps will return.
